Delaware's Atlantic beaches pack three very different towns into a few miles. Pick the wrong one and you are either bored or kept up all night. Here is who each is for.

Rehoboth Beach

The hub: a mile-long boardwalk, the best dining on the Delaware coast, tax-free outlet shopping nearby, and a famously welcoming, family-friendly feel. Busiest, and the most to do.

Dewey Beach

Just south, on a narrow strip between ocean and bay, Dewey is the nightlife town, bars, decks, and day-drinking. Fun for groups; loud for families.

Bethany Beach

Marketed as one of the Quiet Resorts, and it earns it: low-key, family-first, no boardwalk bar scene, with the Sea Colony condos out front. The pick for a calm beach week.

Fenwick Island

The southern tip, quietest of all, right on the Maryland line a few minutes from Ocean City. Browse all of it on the Rehoboth and Bethany rentals page.

The rest of the trip

After the rental, the rest.

A flight in, a rental car for dune drives, a boutique hotel for the last night before the airport. The pieces that complete a coastal week.
